One Last Night of Good Weather

It is 10ish and it’s 40′. Such beautiful weather is rarely seen out here in Hell.

Well, tonight will be our last night of nice temperatures for 2008, possibly for the winter of 08-09. Our low is about 33′ tonight. Tomorrow is supposed to be back up above 70′. Ewwwww On Tuesday it is supposed to be almost 80′. This is so not even tolerable. 33′ and 36 hours later almost 80′.

I hope that y’all are safe from the power losses and mudslides and avalanches.

A Hard Freeze in The Desert???!!!

Blessings in Christ!

Yes,  we are prepping for a hard freeze out here in the desert tonight!

7:30 p.m. and it was 38′ F

8:15 p.m. and it is 34′ F

I can’t wait to see how low we will go.  My guess is that we will get down about 24′F.  I will have to check the thermometer each time I get up tonight.  Granted, the thermometer is about a foot away from the front door and under the awning, but it tends to show a pretty true temperature.

Blessings,
Mama

1am and it is 87′ outside…

We won’t get much cooler than that and it is ridiculous! It is almost 90′ F outside and it is 15 minutes after 1am.

And some people argue that global warming isn’t happening! People used to talk about how in the desert it was hot during the day and cold at night. It doesn’t happen like that anymore. It is hot all of the time. Only at night, there isn’t a sun blaring on you.

Insomnia strikes again…

Electric Company rip-offs

Marc decided that he was tired of all of us suffering through the monsoon and indian summers so we went and bought 3 window air conditioning units. We got our electric bill…$450 for one month. That is double the normal summertime cost. It is crazy! I don’t know how we are going to pay it. I guess I will have to feed the children top ramen a few dinners a week. Doubled our electric bill. I think I am still in shock. Marc is none to pleased either. We knew the electric bill would go up. But we quit running the big cooler at all, so that should have helped, but it obviously didn’t.

If we were up in the mountains, we wouldn’t need to run the air conditioners. It’s all really about the weather though. At our house, the night time low is running about 80′F. A night time low of 80’s and we do not live in Death Valley.

Crazy weather is on the increase. It is something everyone needs to get used to.
