What a Day…A baby, Patrick, and Moose

Steve & Megan had their baby last night. Her name is Abigail Marie. She was born by emergency c-section. Megan is doing is pretty well as of when we were there this evening. Abigail is the most beautiful I have seen. No fugly newborn stuff going on, LoL.

Patrick is coming home tomorrow. It has been very odd and sad without him around. I hope he has learned his lesson.

Moose has finally gone to his new home. It took them long enough and the guy (will probably be Alex’s father in law in the future) put us off and messed around to where it took 2 extra weeks. UGH…I am soooo not getting into a rant about the kind of peole that they are.

Anyhow, the baby & mama are doing good, and Patrick will be home tomorrow. I am hoping that life can get back to semi normal. Maybe I’ll even get to work on the website and blog a bit.

Blessings,
Mama

Blurb about today and ramble about my kids

I am managing to get some things accomplished today. Stuff that it is difficult to do when you can’t even manage to get into a standing position without major pain. I am doing abit better, and albeit, probably should not be pushing myself, but I have been going stir crazy, so I’m doing stuff around the house.

I am only doing normal things like cleaning the bathroom and sweeping the livingroom and cleaning Lilly’s yard. It is amazing how bothersome it is to be out of commission. Most of the kids have been good about helping out extra and not complaining when I ask them to do things that I usually accomplish. I thank The Lord for having such loving & caring children.

I am so greatful to be blessed with the children that I have. There are difficult times, but all in all, they are awesome kids! Even our extra girl, Allie is pretty awesome! When I am back and moving without extra pain, I want to do something special for them. I’m not crazy about the video games, but maybe I’ll get them some new controllers since the one they have is messed up. I could get a pair of them and I think they would all appreciate it.

Well, I’m totally rambling and my timer is ticking, it’s time to get back up and try to do something else!

Blessings in Christ,

A Beatiful Morning…And My Trip Into Town

It was about 28 degrees when we woke up this morning.  There was frost on the small bits of grass that grow here and there.  The animal waters had a very thin layer of ice and I could see my breath.  It was an incredible  God moment when I walked out the door.    The birds were fluttering around once the sun came up and the horses were very playful this morning.  The barn cats were no where to be seen until a couple of hours ago though.  I love this kind of weather.  The dry heat is so bothersom and awful here in the desert.  I cannot wait to move.  God has put it on my heart that this was my last summer here, and am excited by that.

I made Marc outmeal and donuts for breakfast as well as made some extra coffee for him to take to work with him today.  (He doesn’t usually work Saturdays, but the boss was great enough to allow him some make up hours since he lost some during the holidays.  This new job really seems to be so much better than this last one.  He is getting 40 hours a week now, which is wonderful.  Though the most important part is that he is enjoying it more.  He gets to do things he hasn’t done in years and is loving it.  He likes the people he’s working with too!  I praise The Lord that he has such a great place to work.

After Marc went to work, I did some chores around here, checked some emails and then drove Alex to town for work.  He wanted to stop and get some discounted Christmas chocolates so we stopped at Walgreens and I got my breathing medicine while we were there.  After that, my boy took me out for Mexican food.  It was great to sit and chat with him.  Since he’s been 18, and going to school and working we don’t get alot of sit and chat time.   After that, I dropped him off at work.

Since I was across the street from Hancock Fabrics, I went over to see what they had going on.  I got 30% off on some fabric that I was wanting to make a new skirt and an apron.  I also got the elastic for the head scarves (which by the way, I am going to call ‘head~danas) and they will be for sale shortly on the website.  They also had this other awesome fabric for $2.10 a yard, so I got the last 4 yards of it.  It is a wonderful light tan with off white ivy.  I will probably end up making a skirt out of it also.  If not, I will use it for some head scarves and some quilting.

Then, I went to go see Alex at work and got some great scrapbooking metallic pens for the girls for 25 cents each and some dry board pens for school work and the chore list.

I’m back home and I’ve gotten the computer desk and the treadle sewing machine moved around.  I’m doing some laundry and I am hoping to have everything back in order before I start cooking dinner at 5.  (Tonight we are having enchilada’s)

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!

Papa’s 55th Birthday aka A Very Nice Monday Evening

Marc's 55th BdayToday was Marc’s B-day and for his birthday the family got him the bible that he has been wanting.  The small type in most bibles is too small for him so we got him a Large Print Bible (NLT) and a large print tab set.  Alex got him new wings for his RC airplane.  And Alex’s gf, Allie, drew him a picture of him holding a GIANT fish.  It is an awesome drawing!  My sister and her daughter came over (not a surprise, huh?  LoL) and they got him a flannel shirt and my parents got him a new Stanley metal coffee cup.

I made dinner and my sister made a cake. It was a nice calm evening. After we did our party, my sister and her daughter left.

Then we did our advent reading and we started the advent calendar. It was a very positive experience.

After that, some of us painted, some of us did some reading and a few of us played rummy. I am so loving our evenings together. All these years, Marc has worked the 2nd shift. He hasn’t been around for dinners and this new experience is wonderful! The family will definitly benefit from this new job.

Thank you Lord for all the you have given us!

Blessings,
Mama

A Nice Sunday Evening Around the Homestead & a Crazy Day in the Morning

We are having a nice Sunday Evening Around the Homestead. The kids and Pam painted Christmas decorations while I made dinner. We all ate dinner and now Marc, Chris, Andy & Bre are playing Jenga. Pam, Patrick, Sara & Jessica are watching a television special. And I was painting but now I decided to write a quick post while the crosses dry.

Our morning was about insane as we got a call at 6am to help a friend and her cow. The cow had delivered the baby, who was laying on the ground, not out of the sac. The mother cow had delivered her uterus also. It took a couple of hours for the vet to get there, but she is awesome. And got the uterus back in and her all stitched up.  She made it look as easy as making cookies.

As of last check in, (8ish) both mother and baby are doing well. Mama has refused the baby and had started to become hostile to the baby, so he is being hand raised. He will be the new herd sire where he is at because other than his mother (who will not be bred again), he is unrelated to any girl.  He is my JessiCows little brother though, so he’s not the bull for her, LoL.

I will be posting a picture of baby here in a bit. The babies name is Titus (little T for short). He is the most adorable Holstein other than our JessiCow.

Well, I am off to try to add a picture and then paint some more crosses.

Titus, on the day that he was born

Mama

What a Long Week…Catch-up Post…

Well, Today is the 3rd and I haven’t posted this month at all. The last week has been very rough around here.

Our oldest boy is in the hospital and has been there since the end of last week. He has a series of blood clots from an injury that happened this spring. The doctors have gone back and forth about surgery this whole time and it was decided today (while he was awaiting surgery) that they are not going to do the procedure but are going to let the clots deteriorate with the help of medication. We are not sure if he will just come to stay a week with us when he is released from the hospital or if he will come to live with us until we move. Ohhhh, that’s a whole nother paragraph. So, for now, his dogs are here with us and we are handling everything day by day. We have simply put our trust in the Lord that things are going according to His plan and we just have to wait to see what is in store for us.

Moving…we have a date! We also have traded our property in on a better situation for us. Our move date is May 30th of next year. We traded our property in on a 5 acre lot with power, a water well and phone. It is closer to larger cities for Marc to find work and the town it is in is much smaller, which is something that is important to us. It also wonderfully level and will be much easier to work. It is also closer to town so we can ride our horses there as we need to.

I am soooo excited. Even Jessica is excited about the move. Now, all we need to do is find a church there.

Okay, I need to do a post about our herd, but I’ll make that seperate.

Blessings,
Mama
